Eulogy
My grandmother was a woman of few words but she never failed to communicate love to her children, grand-children and all who knew her.
She bore a heavy burdern - literally - when she decided to have a big family; two sons and eight daughters but no one was neglected nor favoured. She chose not to divide her time and love but to instead multipy it by ten.
She was not a big influence in my life but there was a bond that we shared. She introduced coffee to me, always eager to brew a fresh pot of coffee whenever I was over to visit, firmly ignoring my mom's protest. That was years ago, when I was still a child in short pants.
So thank you gua-ma*, your strengths are reflected in your children, your silent love is felt by all.
You will be missed.

*Gua Ma = Hokkien for maternal grandmother.
