New Toy - HTC Touch (Enhanced)

I cannot believe I actually bought it. SGD$400. I hope this PDA phone is all that it's hyped up to be. Can't wait to use all it's functions. But, I don't think I will let my boss know I'm so 'connected' anytime soon, lest he thinks that its the perfect reason for me to work 24/7.
-------
I have never spent this much on a phone, although this isn't just a mobile per se, because it can do a whole lot more than make calls and sms. I should just shake the price off and just enjoy my new toy.
-------
This is a perfect example of why I always defend women when they are criticized about their shopaholic tendencies, because when guys impulse buy, our toys always cost a bomb, many times much more than a woman's afternoon of retail therapy.

A Chance Meet

I bumped into JJ in a shopping mall 2 days ago. Yep, the same JJ.
-------
She was with her new born son.
-------
I do not have any feelings for her anymore. Not for the longest time. I am quite happy that she is leading a blessed life.
-------
Nevertheless, that chance meeting made me smile.

Lifestyle Resolution #2 - Eye Care

I've recently gone to the optician to make a new pair spectacles. The guy in the white coat checked my eyes and confidently proclaimed that my degrees did not go up.
------
I gave a sigh of relief for but a moment until he told me the degree on each eye.
Right Eye: 725 Left: 525
That is really really bad.
------
I was a little scared too. Those are really big numbers. I have to do something. I cannot take my gift of vision for granted anymore. So what am I to do? Here's what:
  1. Watch a lot less TV. (yes Bambi, you win) I will not set a number to this resolution, but I'm serious about reducing the amount of time I spent in front of the tube.
  2. I will not do anything on the computer an hour before I turn in for the night.
-------
Time to get serious. I want my vision when I get older. There are too many things to see in this world. And having sight is a big part of this equation.

I'm a BORING Shopper

In the year 2007 I bought a pair of Hush Puppies. I thought it was pretty good, pretty comfortable. It was BLACK in colour.
In the year 2008 I bought a pair of Hush Puppies. I thought it was pretty good, pretty comfortable. It was BURGUNDY in colour.
sO there. Same shoe. Different Year. Different Colour.
Conclusion: I'm a boring shopper.
My sister actually gasped when she found out about my purchase.
In my defense: The shoe was on SALE because it was last years collection.

Lifestyle Resolution #1 - Losing 24Kg in One Year

I guess with the new year and all, making resolutions is sort of a tradition. But I think making resolutions just because it is a new year is lame reason to begin with. So. I would like to make some changes, some lifestyle resolutions I call it. I will think things thoroughly and come up with practical and necessary changes. I'll start with this one.
-------
Lifestyle Resolution #1
I would like to achieve my ideal weight of 80Kg in the year 2008. That means I need to lose 24Kg. Seems rather daunting. But I have broken it down to a few simple steps.
  1. Train myself to eat until I'm no longer hungry. You see, I usually eat until I am full, many times until I am way too full. So to eat until I am no longer hungry takes a lot more discipline, a drastic shift in my eating pattern. Okay, this step is a little stupid. I tried it today and I was not hungry after 2 spoon fulls of rice. I'm sure I'll be hungry in an hour. So I'm amending this rule. I will train myself to eat until I'm only 75% full. More practical I feel.
  2. I will try my best not to eat 3 hours before I plan to sleep.
  3. I will exercise at least 4 times a week.
  4. I will eschew all forms of sugar. Allowing a small indulgence once a month.
  5. I will eschew all forms of fat to the best of my ability. (That means NO fast food anymore!)
-------
I guess if I want to see results, there has to be sacrifice.
Go for it FD, for a better quality of life!
