Progress?

I've been going to the gym for more than 5 months now. There aren't many visible results. Total weight loss - from then till now - is just a measly 3Kg. My target for an acceptable BMI* requires me to lose 33Kg, that meant that only 9.1% of the objective has been achieved thus far. I feel that I'm physically stronger than before but feels a little discouraged every now and then because the process of losing weight is just so slow.
-------
Yesterday, I was on the way to the gym when thoughts of playing hooky started to invade my mind. Thoughts like... " I think I will skip gym today, go to a Starbucks, have a latte and a well deserved Boston Cheesecake, afterall, I did lose 3Kg last week."
After some mental judo with my immediate desires, logic took over and 20 minutes later I was on the threadmill, panting away.
-------
You know, perhaps that is how I should define progress. I had unwittingly strengthened my will to lose weight with each painstaking decision I've had to make. I'm well aware that losing weight is far more important than satisfying my immediate cravings. Having a healthy body is more important, it has to be.
That is my current mindset. Would you call that progress?
A
