* Haiyoh = A Singlish equivalent of the English word 'gasp' with an added hint of dismay.

** Mee Siam mai Hum= Mee siam is a local Singapore dish, basically it's vermicelli served in spicy soup with other ingredients. Hum means cockles in Hokkien. Mai Hum simply means "No cockies please". "Mee Siam Mai Hum" would simply refer to ordering a bowl of mee siam without cockles, however, this also became an infamous phrase coined by none other than our PM Lee Hsien Loong.
